The transformation of East Lake Park began with clearing the shoreline to better showcase the beautiful views of East Lake Okoboji. Extensive landscaping was installed along with site furnishings such as benches, picnic tables, trash receptacles, bike racks, a bike repair station, and a cedar fence to frame the property.
The main focus of the restoration was a play structure that resembles Arnolds Park’s iconic Queen II . The structure was constructed in Germany, shipped to Okoboji via container and reassembled in place. The play structure is surrounded by a colored rubber playground surface.
